Overview

Customers can send images, documents, or other attachments depending on the channel (WhatsApp, web, etc.). Attachments are stored and linked to messages and conversations for agent review.

Processing

The backend may extract text from certain file types for search or vision flows—limits apply by size and type.

Privacy

Treat attachments as sensitive—apply your data retention and PII policies. Redaction may run in pipeline for regulated content.

In Inbox, open the thread to download or preview attachments when the UI supports it.
